Comments Search for Youtube is a lightweight Chrome extension that allows you to search youtube comments without leaving the site. It adds functionality that has long been missing, saves you time and enhances your watch experience.

Comments Search for Youtube v3 is now available on the Chrome Web Store.

Once installed, go to any youtube video and hit Ctrl+S or click the extension icon to search.

Use Cases

In addition to perfoming normal comments searching on a given video, the extension supports advanced search modes as explained with examples below.

Advanced Mode: This mode is supported on selected videos and allows you to perfom advanced search by using special keywords, for example:

Use : to show comments with timestamps (0:37)
Use :all to show all comments.
Use :link to show comments with links.
Use :reply to show comments with replies.
Use :creator to show comments by the uploader.
Use 0:00-0:19 to search within specific time frame.

Global Mode: With global mode you can search comments on the entire channel by typing the special keyword global: followed by your query, for example:

Type global: background music to search all channel comments for background music.
